What Happened January 18th
Today, I decided to share some of that ... if you're interested ...
You probably know most of the context; I started Dovito in 2023, spent 2024 growing it, getting it to over 5 figures per month by November (that's like step 1... 6 figures is step 2), and was entering 2025 ready to get it to step 2 through some exciting partnerships.
We were using a primary software to simplify how businesses run, customizing it per company.
It was sooooo cool.
I lined up 6 experienced developers to join in April (like, this next month April) as I worked on securing the first rights to sell this software (a $900M+ company in Asia and Latin America) here in the USA.
Biggest thing I've ever done.
In January, I was on a personal trip to Western Colorado when I got the text from my brother (wingman, CTO, Project Manager, the brains behind Dovito) which I knew meant "you don't want to see this, it's not good"
"🤓" was the text.
You don't want to get "🤓" from my brother at 7:30p on a Saturday night.
After asking what was wrong, a quick call outside in the freezing January mountain air, and sending a myriad of messages to my contacts at the software company I was served up the worst news I've had in probably a couple of years.
"You have until 12a EST to move all your data off of the servers. We're pulling out of the USA immediately."
No warning, except 3 hours and 18 minutes.
I can't even begin to tell you the sinking feeling in my gut, as I glanced at my phone sitting there on my lap, eating dinner with the friends I was visiting, seeing that message from a key dev at the company.
I had banked more than I should have on this working out - I sacrificed 2024 to ensure it did.
I spent the rest of the evening calling clients, after I learned we could access data via VPNs, ensuring them we would restore them to the old tools/software they were on previously, at no extra charge to them (awful financial move, but I don't do this solely for the money, I do it to solve real problems and add real value to real people's lives... sometimes that means getting burned).
Lost over 60% of revenue in one night.
I'm not even sure what words to use that accurately describe the feelings that come with a train wreck like that.
One product failing, fine... a whole business?
Burning is the only sensation I can relate it to.
It took me at least a couple of weeks to find my balance, figure out what was next, and decide to keep building.
In the last two months, we've had to make some serious pivots in the office.
From customizing existing software, to writing it ourselves.
From using international partners, to now being 100% hosted in the USA.
From making the SOPs, to making the tools that actually do the work.
From creating new processes, to deploying simple, proven systems.
And I can't thank the people closest to me (you know who you are) enough, especially my bro, for the support.
So... here we are.
It's almost Q2 2025.
We are creating 10X the value we were 3 months ago, and I can honestly say, it's by God's grace that everything happened when and why it did.
We are building the coolest dang AI and Automation tools for companies; automating lead generation, email scripting, SEO audit and editing (this one is going to be AMAZING when we open it publicly), and so much more.
We've been forced to break past the boundaries of existing software, to create something that won't disappear overnight because one country hates another.
From fine-tuned AI models, to custom-built agents; in the next month we'll be releasing the first round of solutions to the problems I set out to solve 2 years ago, just this time better.
Much better.
By the grace of God.
I have an ask though... kinda strange one too.
And no, it's not for money ;)
While we are building super custom solutions, there's also the basic ChatGPT, Perplexity, and all of that out there... you know, your run-of-the-mill AI chats.
I talk to a lot of people and what I've found is that everyone is attempting to maximize AI in their own lives, to some extent.
As we've been coding fine-tuned AI models (think your brain turned AI) and building custom agents, we've learned some tricks that happen to apply (very well) to regular AI chats.
As I step it up in marketing Dovito, my goal is to create an insane amount of free content and materials to help the DIYers get more done daily, and so this week, the first 3 resources should hit Draft 1.
Would you be interested in proof reading our first three resources for me?
friend, if you're open to helping me out, which I would super appreciate, just email me back the word "RESOURCE" and I'll tag you as someone I can send these first three resources to.
And here's the thing, I won't be selling you anything (my goal is to keep this email simply us, two friends thinking deep on life and being encouraged weekly), and there's no catch.
I literally just need another friend to give me honest feedback as we build this business up again.
So, reply with the word "RESOURCE" and Friday I'll personally email you the first one that's ready.

Here's a sneak peak at the covers!
Ok, that's it for today... sorry for the long email.
Now you are caught up on most of the work-life side of things (as far as Dovito goes haha).
When life gives you lemons, make lemonade... and sell it on the street corner ;)
