Zone of Genius
I was just curious the empathy level it had (as of now, it's the best LLM I've used for research, analysis, development support, and professional writing).
"But here's the thing - you're measuring yourself against people who are executing in their zone of genius while you're scattered across [list of investments]. Of course they're outperforming you. They said no to everything except the one thing that makes them money."
Now while it's not all about money (and of course an ai will see my master prompt and think it is because of all the business material ... indicating a need to add about personal values and core motivating drivers) I thought this was profound.
This morning I grabbed a cappuccino at my favorite coffee shop in Colorado with a friend.
We spoke about the 6 Types of Working Genius and how critical it is for spouses, families, and working teams alike to understand the inner makings of each individual and to then structure each relationship (romantic to professional) according to strengths and ignoring social pressures.
And it resonated as I thought back to my testing of the Claude coach (which totally doesn't replace a real coach, not yet 😉).
I know without a doubt what my strengths are on paper.
Because I've been ruthlessly pursuing knowledge and clarity about what they are and how to apply that knowledge.
But I've made one grave mistake, and recently, it's been showing up a lot - especially in my closest relationships.
I haven't said "no" enough.
In fact, I'm currently thinking about whether I should drop some things where I’ve clearly stepped outside my zone of genius. (study for a particular license among them).
It sounds cool to have all the shingles on the wall, and to have a super diversified portfolio of investments... and not that they're wrong... but do they ADD to our calling and core purpose (igniting passion) or do they TAKE AWAY and distract us from greatness.
Again, it's not all about the dollar.
That's just an immature and ignorant view on life to think everything centers around money.
We're talking true greatness where we walk in our Unique Ability™ and operate from our true zone of genius.
That's technically called stewardship of what God has given us (our unique design and gifting, along with personal calling).
And I've been challenged by the fact that I've neglected excellent stewardship because of a false humility, instead of pressing in to what strengths I know I have and claiming those as a gift from God.
And saying no to everything else.
Not a guilt festering email, just an acknowledgment of where I'm off center a bit, and a fresh commitment to change and be better.
Because, honestly, that's life. (constant change and improvement)
And now I'm excited because I feel free to accept who God has made me to be and thrilled to discover how I can strengthen those areas that He's made me unique, and ways I can grow in the weaknesses so I can steward all parts of life well.
Don't you just love learning and growing?? :D
