Privacy policy

What this site collects, why, who it’s shared with, and how you can see, change or delete it. I don’t sell your information.

Who I am

dkcoleman.com is run by me, David Coleman, personally. When this policy says “I” or “me,” that’s who it means. You can reach me at david@dkcoleman.com or 508 Main Street, Windsor, CO 80550.

What I collect

What you give me

  • Signing up or asking for something (The 1159, the Talent Discovery Kit): your name and email.
  • Requesting or booking a meeting: your name, email, phone, company or role, where and when you’d like to meet, and your answers to the intake questions.
  • Speaking, sponsor and Work with me forms: your contact details and whatever you tell me about your event, company, idea or yourself, including any links you share.
  • Your preferences page: any changes you make to your name, email, phone or what you get from me.
  • Replies: anything you send when you reply to one of my emails.

What’s collected automatically

  • Your IP address and browser, used to stop spam and abuse. It’s kept with speaking and Work with me submissions and in short-lived rate-limit counters.
  • Link clicks and downloads from my emails and resource pages. These are logged with a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, never the address itself.
  • Email activity: my email system records whether an email was delivered, opened or clicked.
  • Cookies, covered below, including how to turn them off.

How I use it

  • To send what you asked for: The 1159, a download, a meeting confirmation, a reply.
  • To decide on and schedule meeting requests, and to put meetings on my calendar.
  • To follow up about speaking, sponsorships, open seats and ideas you’ve pitched.
  • To keep the site and forms safe from spam, bots and abuse.
  • To understand what gets read so I can write better (unless you’ve turned analytics cookies off).
  • To show my ads to people who’ve visited, on Google, LinkedIn and Meta (unless you’ve turned ad cookies off).
  • To meet legal obligations and protect my rights.

Who I share it with

I don’t sell your personal information. I share it only with the services that run this site for me, which use it on my behalf:

ServiceWhat it does
VercelHosts the site
NeonStores form submissions and bookings
GoHighLevel (LeadConnector), with MailgunContact records and sending email
GoogleCalendar invites and Google Meet; Google Analytics and Google Ads, unless you opt out
CloudflareBot protection on forms (Turnstile) and DNS
LinkedIn and MetaMeasuring and showing my ads, unless you opt out

I may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety, or as part of a transfer if this site ever changes hands. If I’ve told you I’ll introduce you to someone, I’ll only share what the introduction needs.

Cookies and ads

If you’re in the EU, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, a small bar asks first, and no analytics or ad cookies load until you accept. Everywhere else they’re on by default, and you can turn them off any time from , which is also in the footer of every page. Turning them off counts as opting out of targeted advertising and of any “sharing” of your information for ads. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, I treat it as that opt-out automatically.

CookieWhyKept
dk_consentRemembers your cookie choice. Always on.1 year
Cloudflare TurnstileTells people from bots when you send a form. Always on.The session
_ga, _ga_*Google Analytics: which pages get read and which forms get sent. Off if you opt out (or don’t accept, in Europe).Up to 2 years
Google, LinkedIn and Meta ad cookies (such as _gcl_*, li_*, _fbp)Measuring my ads and showing them to people who’ve visited, only while I run ads there. Off if you opt out (or don’t accept, in Europe).Up to 2 years

Unless you’ve opted out, when you send a form the ad platforms may receive a hashed (scrambled) copy of your email so they can match the visit to an ad. I never send them what you wrote in the form. Analytics events say only which form was sent, never your name, email or answers.

Email

You only get email from me if you signed up, asked for something, or wrote to me. Every email has a link to your preferences page, where you can update your details, turn The 1159 on or off, or unsubscribe from everything. Messages about a meeting you booked still go out while the meeting is on the calendar.

How long I keep it

  • Contact details and what you sent me: while we’re in touch, and until you ask me to delete them.
  • Meeting records: as long as they’re useful for my calendar and records, usually a few years.
  • Spam and rate-limit records: days to weeks.
  • Google Analytics data: 14 months.

Your choices and rights

Wherever you live, you can ask me to:

  • tell you what I have about you, and give you a copy;
  • correct it;
  • delete it;
  • stop using it for targeted ads or analytics (fastest: );
  • stop emailing you (also the preferences link in any email).

Email david@dkcoleman.com from the address you used, and I’ll answer within 45 days. If I need to confirm it’s you, I’ll ask. I won’t treat you differently for asking. If you’re in Europe or the UK, I rely on your consent for cookies and email, and on my legitimate interest in answering you and keeping the site safe; you can also complain to your local data authority.

Security

Everything travels over HTTPS. Personal links (downloads, preferences, meeting changes) are random or signed and stored only as fingerprints. Access to the admin is limited to me. No system is perfect, so please don’t send me anything you’d be hurt to have exposed, like passwords or financial details.

Children

This site isn’t meant for anyone under 16, and I don’t knowingly collect their information. If you think I have, tell me and I’ll delete it.

Changes

If I change this policy, I’ll update the date at the top. If a change matters, like a new way your information is used, I’ll say so on the site or by email before it takes effect.
